NOTE: Nighthawk app or the routers web page may not report seeing new FW updates. NOTE: Use a wired PC and web browser to update router FW. If continued problems are seen after a FW update, it's recommended to try a >factory reset and setup from scratch with out loading any saved configurations from backup files.

After setting up from scratch and the system is working well, be sure to save a new backup configuration to file for safe keeping and save time if another factory reset needs to be done. Saves time here:

Re: New - RS700S Firmware Version 1.0.7.86 Released
Glad to see that this fixes the DDoS false positive issue. Support sent me a test firmware fix a while back which worked out. Man issue from before was they kept on appearing every 10 seconds and now, they are basically gone.

If you don't see it via Auto Update, then manually load it. Reason why there is the FW file.
NG may not be auto pushing this one.

Re: New - RS700S Firmware Version 1.0.7.86 Released
This update negatively affected my throughput. With 1.0.7.82 I got 580 mbps download and 510 mbps upload. After the update I got 250 mbps download and 1 Mbps upload. Reverted back to 1.0.7.82 and all is fine.

Re: New - RS700S Firmware Version 1.0.7.86 Released
@baforer1954I have noticed this as well, but it's not as drastic of a decrease for me. Before the update, my speedtests were consistently around 2.1 gbps for both download and upload, but after the update, it seems to hover around 1980 Mbps for both.
Unfortunately, I am unable to revert back to an older firmware whatsoever. Don't know if that means my router is bricked or not. Will try to see if a factory reset helps with reverting the firmware.

@baforer1954 @ShadowMario3 Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed to check this?

Re: New - RS700S Firmware Version 1.0.7.86 Released
@FURRYe38Just performed a factory reset and noticed that speeds were back up to normal.Once I restored my original settings, a speedtest dipped back down again. Decided to turn off QoS, and that brought speeds back up to normal, so you might want to try that out @baforer1954.
Still can't downgrade to an older firmware, so I will need to reach out directly to support about this. I guess it won't be too big of a deal until the next firmware update is released.

Re: New - RS700S Firmware Version 1.0.7.86 Released
I would FR and setup from scratch and no load any prior back up configuration files that were made on older versions of FW. Make a new back up config file. Maybe introducing issues due to changes in newer versions of FW. See this before.

Re: New - RS700S Firmware Version 1.0.7.86 Released
I tried downgrading the firmware the moment I did a factory reset, and still no luck unfortunately. Only hope is seeing if upgrading to a higher firmware in the future will work out.

Re: New - RS700S Firmware Version 1.0.7.86 Released
Upgrading to newer FW may still need a FR and setup from scratch and then make a new back up. There maybe changes behind the scenes that cause problems with older backup files that get loaded.

Re: New - RS700S Firmware Version 1.0.7.86 Released
Most of your Wi-Fi 7 capable clients are likely 2x2 and are supporting just a single 160 MHz wide connection on the 5 or 6 GHz band - due to the total bandwidth limitations of the PCIe implementation on most real-world computer system designs. What advantages do you expect for your average Wi-Fi clients?
Netgear has business class wireless access points in the market like the WBE750/758 and the newly announced WBE710/718 supporting MLO. While the first ones (same hardware, just different license sets, so lets' name them WBE75x) come with a (yes, single...) 10 GbE PHY, the lower cost WBE71x come with a single 2.5 GbE PHY only.
MLO does make perfect sense for operating wireless Mesh system - primarily for the wireless backhaul, and then for the shared wireless front and backhaul, as implemented on the Netgear Insight Instant Mesh, or being for Orbi RBE97x and 77x. Talking about the RS700 (RS700S is just a bundle with some additional license(s) - that much said about people publishing wrong or incomplete announcements here in the community apparently on behalf of Netgear) the v1.0.7.86 is more than two months old now, it was released as the KB signature unveils

More fun facts? The other brand GT-BE98U does support their Mesh, allowing to participate as a primary Mesh router or a Mesh node (either proprietary or IEEE standard Mesh) while Netgear does .... hmmmm ????
Back to the subject: Would be nice to her what practical, real-world application you have which requires or takes an advantage of supporting MLO @erizzle22. My message: Don't believe just in marketing!
