Re: Cannot install application

Hi,

I was running Plex 1.12.2 on ReadyNAS 6.9.2.

Today I went to install Plex 1.13.0 via the ReadyNAS web interface, however I receive the error message “Cannot install application plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries”.

It had already come up with the usual app install window and churned around for a bit and uninstalled the old version.

So I rebooted the ReadyNAS and it’s the same - still can’t install it.

I then decided to upgrade the ReadyNAS firmware to 6.9.3.

After rebooting I then went to install Plex again but still “Cannot install application plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries”.

Thinking I was fortunate I noticed that I had the old Plex download on my hard drive, but alas that won’t install either.

So as of now I can’t install either version?

Any suggestions gratefully received!

ReadyNAS is far from full - it’s got 2.4TB free.

Do you have/have you had any other apps installed?

Have you checked the logs for additional details?

Thanks for approving my post.

Plex is the only app that's ever been installed.

I'm getting the same error but for the docker-cli-rnapp add-on. My ReadyNAS 214 is completely new. Related?

It looks like there was an issue in the post-install where they were trying to change the ownship for the filles shown here...

Were you able to get the newer plex app to install? Or did you still need assistance in getting the plex app to install?

Did you by chance make any changes to these files, or were these files untouched?

This was kindly fixed by Bryan on remote access by installing Plex as a new application (removing/renaming the old previous folder).

I have the DLNA features of Plex disabled so the DLNA log files being missing sounds reasonable.
