Hi is it possible to operate SMB2 on a readynas pro6 nas drive?
There is an experimental implementation of SMB2 in the SAMBA software used in the Pro-6. It could be enabled by setting a flag in the configuration file - this would require ssh access to the NAS.
I don't know if that really resolves the security concerns around SMB 1.0 - it's an early experimental implementation, and I expect the final implementation has fixes that aren't in the Pro.
As @bedlam1 suggests, converting your Pro to OS 6 is probably the best way to get an up-to-date SMB implemention on the NAS.
