Can't access data
Hi.
I have a ReadyNAS Nv+ with 4x2 TB HDD in Raid X, and the other day I got an email from the NAS saying
"Access to the disk on channel (??) is producing I/O errors. Although the array is still redundant, please replace this drive as soon as possible, as it is likely to fail soon."
Later on I got an email saying to chech the logs and that it recomended me to do a RAID Volume sync, which I did.
This is now 3 days ago, and i get the same email from the nas from time to time saying that one hardrive in (??) is producing I7O errors and that I should do something about it.
But, I can't access any of my files now and I can't access Frontview either so I'm absolutley stuck.
Any advice on how to get in touch with the system and finding out which hdd is failing, or how to retrive some of my files which are extremely importiant to me would be deeply apriciated!
Thanks

Re: Can't access data
What do you see in RAIDar (http://www.readynas.com/downloads)?
If you can't see it in RAIDar try booting into tech support mode (http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how_do_i_use_the_boot_menu). Monitor the NAS in RAIDar and see if a bad disk is indicated.
I suggest you open a tech support ((http://www.readynas.com/support) case and edit the thread title (i.e. subject of first post in the thread to include your case number.

Re: Can't access data
In RAIDar I can see my NAS so it's alive and kicking, I can even ping it and get a response.
All lights are green no indication of HD failure, and there is a flashing light under "Volume Status", when "moused over" it says:
"Volume C: RAID Level X, Resync 45% complete, Time to finish 4h 31m, Speed 66 MB/s, 1937 GB (35%) of 5533 GB used"

Re: Can't access data
Hmmm.
I suggest you open a tech support case as I suggested above and ask NetGear support how to proceed.
