Expansion Bay is not included in RAID5
I have connected my EDA to the RN31400. The disks in the RN31400 are all in RAID5, but the expansion bay is on JBOD (only 1 disk is activated up till now). I am now transferring data from my older Ultra4NAS to the new RN31400 and then put the Ultra4NAs disks into the open bays in the EDA500, so I wioll end up with 9 active disks. I don't want separate diskspaces. I just want to connect to ONE(!) NAS and then let the software decide how to devide the data over these 9 discs. Can I change it afterwards, Do I need to re-install the EDA 500? Please help.

Re: Expansion Bay is not included in RAID5
A single volume spanning the main chassis and the EDA500 would be a very bad idea. Separate volumes for the main chassis and the EDA500 are much, much, much safer.
