Move Disks from Ultra 6 Os 6 to RN 316

I'm replacing my Ultra 6 which I upgraded to OS 6.5.1 with a RN316,

Can I just move the disks (6x4) to the new unit w/o any issues?

Model: RNDU6000 |READYNAS ULTRA 6 (DISKLESS)|EOL

Re: Move Disks from Ultra 6 Os 6 to RN 316

Personally it would be my preference to:

  1. Put a scratch disk (must not be from your array) in the RN316
  2. Update the firmware on the RN316 to 6.5.1
  3. Verify that the update was successful
  4. Power down both units, remove the scratch disk and move the disks across keeping the order the same.

But you should be able to just power down both units and move the disks across keeping the order the same.

Just a follow up note. This worked w/o any issues.
