ReadyNas Ultra 6 Checking root FS

Hi All,

Recently the ReadyNAS Ultra 6 we've been running 6.7.0 on has been acting weird and dropping connections, we upgraded the OS to 6.7.1 using /fwbroker and it wouldn't open the admin page, constantly timing out with error messages in systemctl printouts for readynasd.service.

We decided the best course of action was to do an OS Reinstall from the boot menu, but now the NAS is stuck on "Checking root FS" and hangs forever.

We have got the unit in Tech Support Mode but are unsure what to do now (I had read in another thread: 25) that @mdgm-ntgr has said you can wipe the root volume and create a new volume, but the exact process is missing on how to reinstall the OS after that.

Does anyone have any information on this process?

Thanks!

Hello Mutant_Tractor,

TechSupport mode is for Netgear support only. Have you tried Skip Volume Check from the boot menu?

@JennC aware of that, I have done a skip volume check but it gets stuck at 99% saying unable to mount data

Hello Mutant_Tractor,

What's the current RAID level and how many disks?

Can you see the NAS on RAIDar?
