Hello Remko2106,

Welcome to the community!

First, try checking the share permissions in the admin page. Check if the user account you are using is still allowed to access the share you are trying to open.

You may also try using the admin account that should have access to all the shares.

Lastly, try resetting permissions.

Re: cannot acces my nas in windows explorer after firmware update to 6.4.1

Hello Remko2106,

Maybe you can try accessing the NAS shares on another computer?

You also have free phone support still, if you can contact support center please do. But if it is easier for you to back up the data and reset, that's okay too.

We always strongly recommend to always have full backup.

Re: cannot acces my nas in windows explorer after firmware update to 6.4.1

Can you also try running CMD from windows, and entering

net use * /delete

net use t: \\nasipaddress\data /user:admin adminpassword

filling in the correct values for nasipaddress and adminpassword

The first command terminates any SMB network connections the computer already has (it doesn't delete anything).  If there are any, it will ask you to confirm (and you should do that).

The second will attempt to mount the NAS data volume as drive letter t.  data is the default NAS volume name - if you are using a different name for it, you'll need to substitute it.

Please post what happens with the second command (including any errors that you see).

Ok.

I'd try changing the admin password from the web ui (you can of course change it right back to the original setting).

If the net use commands still fail, then take advantage of your phone support..

Re: cannot acces my nas in windows explorer after firmware update to 6.4.1

it still fails.

Now first i will try to reset the nas to factory defaults.

Factory defaults resets everything to its origian settings from the factory included the firmware.

if done i try again if it fails again i go your the fone suppord.

Thanks for helping me so much.

That will destroy all data you have stored on the NAS.

Re: cannot acces my nas in windows explorer after firmware update to 6.4.1

before i do that i make a backup off all data.

if done i will leave the nas now in this state becouse i have now acces with the ftp and i can play my music and movies on a stream to my tv.

I think thats for now good.

later if i have time i will take action to reset factory default..

Thanks for helping me, no more support needed now.

Thanks.

Hi Remko2106,

Nice to know that the problem has been resolved by doing a factory reset on your NAS.  On behalf of JennC and StephenB, I appreciate that you have shared your experience here in the community. 🙂

Feel free to post your future concerns here in the community.

Re: cannot acces my nas in windows explorer after firmware update to 6.4.1

Hi, I am also expiranceing the same problem after upgrading from 6.4.0 to 6.4.1.  I'd prefer not to do a factory reset is I don't need too.  I am still able to access the shares via FTP, NFS and via a web browser, so not a show stopper but is a real pain.  Has anyone heard of any idea's from support on if this is a known problem and there may be a fix soon?
