ReadyNAS Ultra 2 RAIDar status keeps saying "Status: System starting up..."
Hi,
After a standard reboot through the web interface the ReadyNAS Ultra 2 did not come back online:
- I can ping it from a windows machine
- I used RAiDar and keep seeing the same status System starting up...
I dont want to factory reset it, since I need data on the 2 disks.
What can I do to fix this?

How long has it been in this status?
You may try Skip Volume Check from the boot menu in case it is taking too long.

Hi, after 60 minutes of wait it came back online just now! Any idea what caused it? Should i run any checks to avoid this in future?

Hi mezzerin,
Not sure what happened. Probably changes were applied prior rebooting the unit or a resync of the drives happened during boot up. Can you check the health of the hard drives if both are okay?

Under Status > Health it says OK for both discs.

Can you click on the SMART+ stats, and tell us if you see any counts for ATA errors, reallocated sectors, or pending sectors?

The disks look fine.
You should back up the NAS (and put a backup plan in place if you don't have one already).
The logs likely give some clues as to what happened, so you might want to download them in case Netgear wants to see them. Back up the NAS data first though.
