Re: rn104 cant access after firmware update

Hello pdasterly,

That is unusual. I guess it is best for you to stick with 6.4.0 for the meantime, maybe until the official FW is released.

Re: rn104 cant access after firmware update

Which firmware did you update to/from?

How are you accessing the device e.g. via Windows Explorer on a Windows 10 machine?

Re: rn104 cant access after firmware update

Did you change the admin password? Are you sure you are entering the correct password?

Are you sure you don't have the old admin password saved e.g. in Credentials Manager?

Re: rn104 cant access after firmware update

Hello pdasterly,

Access to admin page always has password. If your computer never asked for it before, it must have remembered the password.

By default, username is admin and password is password. Please try that and see if the same.

Re: rn104 cant access after firmware update

Try running cmd (enter it in the windows search box)

net use * /delete

net use t: /user:admin \\nasname\data naspassword

That should mount the RN104 data volume as drive T.  Let us know if that happens, or what error you get.

Re: rn104 cant access after firmware update

The idea is to use the real nasname (or nas ip address) and the real NAS admin password in the two italicized fields.

Is that what you did?

That's why we start with net use * /delete

That error means the PC already has a connection to the NAS with a different user name.

You have these remote connections:

\\READYNAS\Downloads
Continuing will cancel the connections.

Do you want to continue this operation? (Y/N) [N]: y

Re: rn104 cant access after firmware update

Does using the IP address instead of the name change the result?  The PC treats the IP address as a different machine from the name.

Re: rn104 cant access after firmware update

That command should be working (assuming you are typing the correct admin password for the NAS).

Perhaps try changing the admin password with the web ui.  If that fails, contact support.

Re: rn104 cant access after firmware update

Hello pdasterly,

Try disabling Windows password credentials

Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Network and Sharing Center

Network discovery - Turn on network discovery (private and guest)

Public folder sharing - Turn on sharing

Password protected sharing - Turn off password protected sharing
