Says there is a virus on it so windows will not allow us to download it.

I just downloaded it to my WIndows 11 PC. No virus detected. 

Try a different PC or temporary disable your virus progream long enough to download the .zip file.

Windows defender blocks it. Have to go in to protection history to allow it. Comes up as a trojan....only this specific patch does.

Also, Netgear check your patches for this router. It has a major issue making people revert back to a woefully outdated firmware to get the advertised speeds.

Checked clear on my PC. 
This router is EoL so maybe time to get something newer.
