2 different networks with one orbi router
Hey everyone! I recently set up an Orbi RBK50 mesh system with one RBS50 satellite, and so far, I’m loving the speed and coverage. However, I ran into an issue: I connected the Orbi router to my loca...

Yes. But what is that Huawei router?
Did work out how to turn off its wifi?
And, if there is one, what is the modem that sits between the Huawei router and the Internet.

I turned off the ISP router and still have 2 different networks.
How can I merge them into just one network?

Can you share the name of this extra network? One should be the name of the Orbi network, which came "out of the box" with something like "ORBIxx" and may have been changed to a different name during setup.
ISP WiFi typically has names following a definite pattern, with a random element so that two customers next door to each other have almost zero chance of getting the same WiFi network name.
If you turn off the satellite, does that extra network disappear?
- jackaltJan 27, 2025AspirantOne network is Orbi 53 and the other is the ISP network coming from the main router, which has the name I entered during instalation.

Turning off the satelite does not solve the problem.
Still having 2 networks after setting mi Orbi. - CrimpOnJan 27, 2025Guru - Experienced User
I am having a hard reconciling this:

- I took it to mean that the WiFi feature of the ISP router had been turned off, because
- Turning off the entire ISP router would stop the internet connection entirely.
How many devices are there in total:

If you will tell us the specific model of Huawei router, we can look for the User Manual to find out how to turn off the WiFi feature. (or, a call to the ISP technical support might be quicker)

Sorry I was not clear.
- The Orbi has created a WiFi network with the name ORBI53.
- Some device must be creating the other WiFi network.
(One that you had configured.) - Yet that device has had the WiFi turned off.
- So what the f**k device is broadcasting that WiFi name?
WiFi has to come from some device. Log onto that device and turn off the WiFi.

What s this magic box that the ISP has supplied.
Most of these things have a label on the bottom with the brand and model number. Something like the label on your Orbi devices.
One device I found with a search for the sparce details we have now:
Huawei entel router - Google Search
Suggests that Entel uses modem/routers that connect to the mobile telephone network. It also suggests that they are "locked" which can make it very difficult to manage them.
I did find this:
Entel Router Login - 192.168.1.1
If nothing else it explains how to find the model number for some Entel modem/routers. Maybe you have one of those.
