Hello all, I bought an orbi rbk12(rbr10 router and rbs10 satellite combo) a couple years back, recently I bought 2 additional orbi satellite(rbs10) Due to a family being WFH, they require a wired connection, so the router is located in the basement.
Now the big frustration I'm running into is configuring a daisy chain. As it is now I named the orbi based of the location they're at.
Ace is upstairs, furthest from the router.
Coffee is on the main floor, 2nd furthest.
Blastoise is ALSO on the main floor, but basically ontop of the router.
Now, ideally I would like to have coffee daisy chained to Ace, but for some odd reason, coffee is the main daisy chain to blastoise, even blastoise is closest to the router, I've tried everything I could think of, swapping router location, power cycling, and updating firmware.
Can some one help me understand what I should do Please?

Here's a little what I'm talking about

Hello Vvang123 ,
Welcome to the NETGEAR Community!
The configuration that is shown in the post above is the ideal topology for your network configuration. The current network configuration provides redundancy. The configuration you are referring will remove the redundancy while adding additional network access points between the router and the satellite. Additional points between the router and the satellite may also increase troubleshooting difficulties.
If you would like to proceed with Daisy chain configuration, please follow the steps below:
- Navigate to orbilogin.com
- ADVANCED
- Wireless Settings
- Check the Enable Daisy-chain topology
- Click "APPLY"
(Please give it a few minutes to take effect. It may also be necessary to create more distance between the router and the satellite that you would like to be daisy chained.)
Best,
Kevin

Random things in the walls like hvac, tiling, foil lined insulation, evne your appliances can block wifi signals. Sometimes a lateral move can help.
I would do your best to avoid daisy chain with that setup. The tribands have a dedicated backhaul but the lower dual band series like the one you have, doesn't have the dedicated backhaul. So they take a significant speed hit running off a satellite. Its even worse when ran through 2 satellites.
