AC2200 phone line

Recently purchased the AC2200-RBK40. I have a phone line thru my ISP and want to use the Orbi instead of the modem that came with ISP.  Did i waste my money buying the Obri? Or is there a way to connect my phone line to this system?

Im not savy in these ways. Could you break that down dummy style for me? At least the set up you have.  Could i still keep the Orbi and hook it up to another non wifi modem thru the Ethernet ports? Or do i just need to take it back?

I believe the OP has internet phone service with his ISP in which I presume the ISP requires the user of there modem. So I presume in his case, if he needs the ISP modem, he should get in to a non cable modem Orbi system like the RBK50 or 40 series, someting with out the built in cable modem.

If you have a phone service with ISP and need Orbi system, it is better to buy following combination of units.

        CM500V (For Modem and Voice)

        RBK50 (for Router and WIFI)

        CBK40 DOES NOT support voice.

you can ask xfinity to split voice into ISP modem and keep data on CBK40 but then you will still be paying rental fees for ISP modem.

in our online postin on amazon, it specifically states that "

        • **Not compatible with bundled voice services from Cable Internet Service Providers."
