AC3000 RBR50 Corrupt Firmware
I have a 5 year old AC3000 with a router (RBR50) and two satellites (RBS50). I came home from town and booted my computer (Windows 10) and had not Internet (wired). I quickly narrowed it down to t...

This could indeed be your opportunity to go shopping for a new WiFi system.
In desperation, some users have been able to 'flash' the firmware directly to the router using TFTP (or a variation called mnrpflash):

My own personal experience was unusual. In my opinion (and only my opinion), when the router is first turned on, it goes through a rather elaborate sequence of events (taking about two minutes), which finally results in a working system. There is a point where the system waits for a second or two to see if another computer will attempt to make a TFTP connection and load firmware onto the router. Try one second too soon or one second too late, and the connection will fail. (That may be how nmrpflash is different than TFTP for Windows.)
I tried five time and failed every time. After getting out the Big Hammer, I thought, "what else do I have to do right this minute?" and tried again. Try six worked!
Flashing the router is not trivial.
- Disconnecting it and the computer from everything else
- Setting up a Static IP on the computer
- Having the TFTP or nmrpflash application open and ready
- Having the firmware image unzipped and ready.
- etc. etc.
It has worked. Maybe it will for you as well. (Since I purchased a used RBR50 on eBay as a spare, I have not needed to flash firmware again!)

While I agree that it may be time to look for a new one, I still want to give it a try and I used to work in IT at a University and the instructions your link lead to were fairly straight forward as long as I remember to write down each of the settings before I change them on my computer. I figure its worth a try or six, but will wait until I can devote my attention to it.
Otherwise, its a trip to the local Costco and hope they have the model I want in stock, otherwise I may need to order it. Recommendations between the AX5400 and the AX5700 which are the two models they carry?

Well that was an interesting exercise. I followed the instructions to a T and the transfer started on the first try and ended successfully. Two differences were that the power LED went back to solid green and the glowing ring light went to solid magenta, which means one of three things: the WAN port link is down, the router is unable to get the IP address from the modem or ISP, or the router is unable to connect to the Internet. I tried powering it off, reconnected everything after I made sure my PC was talking to the Internet again and then powered it back on. Same thing, green power led Magenta ring light. NOTE: Satellites connected and wireless devices were seeing a wireless network, just no connection.
Ideas?
Going to let it sit for a bit before I try anything else. Too hot here on the Central Coast of Califonria.- GWestlundJun 30, 2023Aspirant
And forgot to mention, still can't get to the web interface.

The heat was getting to me. I shut everything down including the modem, connected everything as it should be and started bringing things up in order (Cable modem, router, etc.) and everything came back up! The only thing that I've noticed is that it still has the satellites at V2.7.4.24 and says there isn't an update available, but I have 2.7.5.4 for the Satellites as well so I will try pushing it out manually.
Next time I see the Orbi on sale at Costco, I'll be getting a new one.Thank you for your help!
