Access control randomly blocking devices at night
Ever since I upgraded to Firmware 2.7.2.104, it has been randomly blocking devices at night usually around 9-11 pm PDT. Yesterday it even blocked one of the satellites. There is indeed no pattern which device it chose to block.
I understand that there has been a relevant discussion from March but there does not seem to be a solution from Netgear or an updated Firmware. Forcing customers to take the detour of downgrading Firmware is definitely NOT a solution.
I would not start a new topic if the old one was not closed. PLEASE fix this issue!

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
Have you set IP address reservations for those devices you have set up in Access Control?

It is really difficult to offer suggestions for problems that seem to affect some users and not others. (The Taffic Meter/Daylight Saving Time issue from last March affected so many people that response was pretty quick.) Alas, customers who participate in the community forum are not employed by Netgear, and there is no evidence that any Netgear engineers ever view forum posts. We have no ability to "fix this issue". All we can do make suggestions.
For myself, I rejected Access Control almost immediately. Too much bother for not much gain. My 25 character WiFi password will take about 4 billion years to hack and I cannot think of a reason why an evil genius would want to hack my internet rather than some business that actually has money and secrets to protect. No Access Control equals "No Problem."
Since Netgear's Orbi firmware has a spotty track record, the two solutions of last resort appear to be:
- Do a Factory Reset on the current firmware (2.7.2.104) and see if that "clears out the cobwebs" and the problem goes away.
- Manually load a previous version of firmware that did exhibit the problem. (and, maybe do a Factory Reset on that firmware.)
Others may offer more solutions if you can provide more information. How do you become aware of devices being blocked? (app? Attached Devices?) How do you get them unblocked?
