Access to modem through Orbi
I have asked before but didn’t really get any solution. I have a Vigor 130 modem. When using Asus routers I could access it using its default address off http://192.168.2.1/. Since using a Orbi2 50 I...
As an update I tried pinging it and its inaccessable through the Orbi.
How do you know the IP address of the modem for sure?
Its the one I was using it on for over a year using Asus router. Its also the defult (and never chasnged) one for the 130
Just to be sure, connect directly to the cable modem and ping it to verify its current IP addtess.
Connect the Orbi again to the cable modem and power-cycle the Orbi router. Disable (temporarily) any security features on the Orbi like Armor.
If you have a good network through the Orbi, then you should be able to ping the modem through it as well.
If you can't, then I have no idea why.

This modem IP should be the gateway IP displayed when you go to http://orbilogin.com, Advanced tab, in the Internet Port box click on Connection Status. This pops up a window where Default Gateway is the IP address of your modem.
For example, I have Comcast and am running Double NAT. My Connection Status is as shown (ignore the browser URL string - My laptop is not directly connected to my Orbi AC) so http://10.0.0.1 goes the Comcast/Xfinity gateway admin website.
That gives me my WAN (internet-facing) IP address, default gaeway and DHCP server (belonging to my ISP).
I don't see my LAN-facing (on my side of the NAT) IP address of the cable modem in that Connection Status window. Thats the private IP address I use to admin my cable modem.
