ADT came and tried to connect directly to the Orbi AC2200 via the ethernet out port
I gave it a shot - picked up the newest, gold ethernet cables. Nothing resolved.
But our problem is two-fold: the wireless is sketchy, coming and going, but it mostly works. But we've got eth...

Do you have any other device with an Ethernet port that can be connected to the Orbi as a test?
AC2200 is a marketing description. The actual product number is printed on the product label on the bottom of the case.
