Unfortunately v1.4.0.18 did not resolve this issue for me in AP Mode. Main unit and satellite do not sync. Satellite continues to flash white and never turns blue.

Have you upgraded the router and satallitie(s) to 1.4.0.18? I thought I had done that and discovered I had only upgraded the base station. Apparently you can only upgrade one physical device at a time.
And interestingly the release notes specifically mention keeping satallites in sync.
Below are links for both base station and satillite updates.

There is now a newer version V1.4.0.34
It appears that the issue may have been with the status lights, not with the actual sync capability. I discovered this by accident when I unplugged the satellite to add a surge protector. Even though the light turned 'magenta' (pink) after the satellite rebooted, my desktop PC immediately had internet access via the ethernet connection to the satellite. Tested on speedtest.net and got 120.62 download and 6.33 upload. Obviously, it had perfect connectivity to the router, just didn't have the correct color light. http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RBK50/RBS50-V1.4.0.34.zip solved the issue
