What FireTV device do you have?
Depending on what FireTV device you have, it is more than likely overheating.
Firesticks will do it ifthe little cable is not used. Faulty or 3rd party power supplys will cause this as well.
It's a Toshiba Fire TV. Integrated unit.
It also seems to stay connected for nearly exactly two days before it disconnects. What might this mean?

I did an internet search and there are tons of people having the same issue with connection no matter what router they are connected to and if it's wired or wireless. Toshiba is aware of this issue. the most common fix, after resetting, unplugging/plugging, wiring internet, etc., is contact Toshiba tech support to replace main TV board.
