Does I need to get the NetGear manufactured powerline adapter or I can use any brand of powerline adapter?
My home got 2 ASus router which can change its operating mode to AP or Repeater, but it didn’t found my network.

You can try other mfr PLs. I would tend to keep with same mfr as NG for Orbi if the other PLs don't work.
