Benefit of Orbi with built in modem compared to standard Orbi and Arris modem?

Is there an inherent benefit of using the Orbi with the built in modem compared to the standard Orbi running with the internet supplier provided Arris modem?  I'm set up for a 1 gB down speed but wasn't sure if there was any speed loss by using the two separate pieces rather than the Orbi integrated.

    i prefer them seperate. If they're integrated, the ISP controls the firmware and updates. Let's just say they don't update them often. 

    If they're seperate, the owner controls the firmware on the router.
