Can an Orbi Satellite be used as a wired access point without the Orbi router?

I have an Orbi RBR50 with one satellite and the WAN port on the RBR50 has gone bad, described here: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/Orbi-RBR50-speed-seems-to-be-degrading-over-time/m-p/1952530...

My understanding is, "no". Without a functioning router, Orbi satellites simply do not function.
