Can RB50 satellites be added to an RBK852 router? plus RBR50 throughput
Just upgraded to Xfinity Gigabit and am trying to get some answers to address the sticker shock that has come from all the stuff I'm going to need to upgrade to get any use out of the service. So, it appears that there is no public plan to produce a Docsis 3.1 Orbi modem/Router combo, so my question is this: All the data I've found on the RBR50 talks about wireless bandwidth, but how much data can you push through the router, WAN interface to LAN interface? I know the connections are supposed to be gigabit, there's usually overhead that prevents the full gigabit from being achieved. I guess I won't know until I get my backordered DOCSIS 3.1 modem what kind of performance I an expect, unless someone on here might have an idea... The backup plan will be to buy the excessively expensive RBK852... with only 1 satellite because there is NO WAY i can lay out $1000 for the 2 satellite system... which brings me to the original question: Can RB50 satellites be mated to the RBK852? Thanks! Rick

From responses I have seen, the answer is "sort of". The WiFi5 series of Orbi satellites appear to be compatible with the WiFi6 Orbi router if connected with ethernet cable. Definitely NOT is connected with WiFi, which is the basic design. Since so few customers are fortunate to have Cat5e or better ethernet cable in place to connect satellites to the base station, for most people the answer is, "no".
Of course, people who participate in the WiFi6 Orbi "AX" forum are more likely to have personal experience with this new product:

Your best to get into a CM1000, 1100 or 1200 D3.1 modem then connect the Orbi AX behind the modem. The Orbi AX Supports LAG as well as the CM1100 and 1200 modems so you can take advantage of that. The Orbi AX supports 2.5Gb WAN connection rates on the WAN Port. The only modem I know of that supports that is the CAX80 which works at that speed rate if you want that though I don't know of a ISP that supports that currently for speed packages for there customers as of yet. So I wouldn't probably invest in that configuration.
Be sure to post about any Orbi AX questions or information in the Orbi AX forum.
