Cannot update firmware on Orbi App, Satelittes not found on Orbi App
Hello, My I have the RBR50 with 2 satellites. I have 2 major problems. 1) My firware version is V2.5.1.6 and I know there is a version 2.7.1.60. The Orbi App says "update" and I go through the wh...

Unfortunately, it says "500 Internal Server Error"
1) I connected computer to orbi router with ethernet
2) I navigated to manual firmware update on 192.168.1.1
3) I saved the most recent update from the website in a zip file, extracted the zip file, saved it as an img file from the browse funtion
4) Hit upload and I get the "500 interal server error"
I have no idea what to do now. Thank you for any direction.
What browser are you using? Try FireFox or Edge or Opera GX. Be sure there are no browser add-ons enabled.
Try a factory reset on the RBR and set up the RBR from scratch. you can do this with out the ISP Modem connected as well. Get to the main screen on the RBR then manually update using the FW file.

I did manage to get to the next step - I saved 7.2 (most recent) as img and then uploaded, the webpage went through the updating firmware page (blue bars) and it completed that step. When completed, I did a reset on the router by putting a paperclip in the router reset and then this morning it still says version 2.5.
How do I set up the Orbi from scratch? AM I doing the router reset correctly?
I am using chrome with a chromebook connected via an ethernet cable directly to the router just as they say.

If you did the reset with the paperclip, that is considered 'from scratch.'
From there you can login to the orbi login page on a PC and check for upodates to the firmware. If there are none, then there may do a manual update by going to the download (top of this page) enter your model number. My recommendation is IF your system is runnning OK and the orbi login says there are NO updates, then leave it alone.
Yes I have 4 kids and 2 adults working from home so fuddling could be a disaster.
My app says update to 2.7, but my router will not update from the app.
The webpage says V2.5.2.4
V2.5.2.4 Current firmware in corner is V2.5.1.16
Perhaps I manually update what my webpage is telling me is the most recent?
