Can't connect Ultraloq U-Bolt Pro Wifi to Orbi RBR40
Hi. I have a new smart lock, the Ultraloq U-Bolt Pro Wifi. Not so smart after all. I can't connect it to my Orbi RBR40 wifi.
I know Ultraloq says it only works with 2.4GHz network, but since the RBR40 is tri-band, it should not be a problem (I never had any issue connecting my other devices, most of them claiming the same connection limitation). So when I couldn't connect initially, I turned off all my RBS, and disabled the 5GHz SSID broadcast. At that point, the only network there is should be the 2.4GHz. I turned off my phone, remove the lock batteries, then plug everything back again, to make sure my phone was connecting to the 2.4GHz channel. Unfortunately, even then, I can't connect the lock to the wifi.
Has anybody had success connecting the Ultraloq U-Bolt to their Orbi dual- or tri-band network, and how did you do it?
Thanks for the help
Laurent

This door lock appears to be configured used a Bluetooth connection. A little over 1:20 into the video, it describes entering the WiFi SSID and password into their app. Is this where it fails to connect?

The lock will need a good WiFi connection. Just personally, I would not power off any of the Orbi WiFi components unless the router itself is very close to the door.
I notice they offer an installation service. Not cheap, but then every type of service is now ghastly expensive. (Called a plumber lately?)

Hi CrimpOn, and thank you for your reply.
Yes, the failure happens once I enter my wifi SSID and the password. It's a failure to connect to the wifi.
I understand your point about the wifi connection. I unplugged the satellites only after I failed to connect the lock, and because I believe the satellites broadcast in 5GHz, and wanted to make sure that my phone was connected to the 2.4GHz network. I thought this could resolve the issue, since Ultraloq mentions the lock will not work with a 5GHz wifi. But that didn't work neither unfortunately. I have a lot of connected devices in my house, and this is the first time I can't connect one to my wifi, so not sure what to do.
I'll call their Helpdesk tomorrow to see if they can help.

Amazing such **** products and the related Apps are still on the market. Zero stars, not worth to waste your (and our) time with this. Considering modern Mesh systems are making use of 6 GHz, 5 GHz, and 2.4 GHz concurrently using the same SSID. Could not be easier to fix thier s**t App to remove the user-must-connect-to-2.4-GHz nonsense...

How to find out whether my WiFi network is 2.4GHz, 5GHz, or 2.4GHz&5GHz dual-band?
No, they don't have a real answer to the problem however.
