can't login to orbi from PC - can't control access from app
I can access the router and see the devices from the Orbi Android app. However, when I remove access from a particular laptop, it resets within seconds, allowing the laptop unintererrupted wifi acce...

It might be worth double checking the login credentials. When Netgear added the "app", the situation got more complicated.
"Out of the Box", the Orbi has two sets of credentials:
- The WiFi name (SSID) and password are set to the values printed on the product label, usually ORBIxx and some cute phrase like "jumpymonkey". The user can decide to change this if they want. (I always set new routers to the same SSID/password as the router they are replacing, which avoids the need to reconfigure all my WiFi devices and also allows me to "go back" just by swapping the hardware.)
- The Orbi web administration credentials are "admin" (which cannot be changed) and "password". During setup, users are strongly encourated to change the password to something less obvious.
The Orbi "app" access is based on the serial number of the Orbi and the Netgear account login. The Netgear password does not work for web access to the Orbi. That access must be "admin" and the web password.
I am assuming that the method used to deny access to this laptop is sliding the "Pause" control in the Orbi app?

thank you for your response.
for the connected PC, the issue is that I get to a webpage that asks for a serial number, which I enter, and hit "continue"
it then brings me to a page with this URL:
http://192.168.1.1/recover.cgi?/securityquestions.cgi%20timestamp=373700995079
It only has the word
"admin"
and then four form fields and two drop downs. (no text or any other item)
It is pretty easy to figure out that the intention was to put in a new password, repeat it , and then pick two security questions. I fill those out, but then there is no button or way to press a "submit" button, so the system won't accept any of the info.
On the app, I slide to have the device disconnected, but then check back in less than a minute, and the slider has moved back to "on"
thanks again,
