Can't login to the app

How is it that I can login no problem through netgear.com  and its a no  go on the app?   Using same exact credentials.  Its rendering the app completely useless.

  • Would be helpful to know if the app was working for a long time and suddenly will not let you log in, or

If the app was used to set up the Orbi system, and the next time you went to open the app it did not let you in.

Got locked out first time - Too many password attempts (wait five minutes) .   I setup a new password  works fine on my  browser but wont let me in through the app. I've deleted the app and downloaded  again. Same thing.   Both iphone and iPad

When the app would not let you log in the first time, my guess is that the Orbi was set up with a user name or password that was one character different than what you intended to enter.  My "fat fingers" have real issues entering passwords on my phone's tiny keyboard, and I absolutely HATE systems that display only "dots" instead of what I keyed in.

My next guess is that only a forum moderator (with that stylized "N" after their login name) can unscramble this because there is a good chance that this Orbi serial number has been "registered" in the Netgear cloud as belonging to someone with a user email that is really close to yours, but not exactly.

It certainly won't hurt anything to do a Factory Reset, delete and reinstall the Orbi App, and try to set it up again.  If you have access to a wired computer, that can be used to set up the Orbi even when the app will not.

If that fails, I would send a private message by clicking on a moderator's "at name" (e.g. Blanca_O ) and provide information about the Orbi serial number, when activated, etc.  Netgear prefers that customers not post private information on the public forum.
