    Hello Mstrbig.

I don't want the Orbi router to interact as an "access point". I bought the Orbi router because the Fritzbox's WiFi is terribly bad.

What exactly do you mean by "DHCP Server"?

    Thank you for your help!

The Orbi router actic as an access point still uses its WIFI power and gives you the WIFI coverage you need. It just no longer ussies IP addresses to what's connected to it.

I'm pretty sure from your description that the Fritzbox is distributing IP addresses, unless you went into the settings and changed it to bridge mode and disabled the DHCP server.

DHCP Server is a network server that automatically provides and assigns IP addresses, default gateways and other network parameters to client devices
