Configuration issue detected - device security at risk

I have an Orbi RBR40, but it doesn't allow me to pick this in the drop-down.

For 2 days now I've been getting the following notification from Orbi:

Configuration issue detected on "name of laptop here". Device security is at risk."

But no additional info is provided.  I have no idea where to start.  I'm currently running Bitdefender and McAfee on my laptop and neither of those are detecting an issue.

Anyone know what types of configuration issues might cause this message?  Any suggestions on how to resolve?

Thanks in advance?

  • You are correct that the drop down menu does not list all model numbers. This is a constant source of irritation to visitors to the forum.

Is Armor enabled on this Orbi?

Generally speaking, I believe it is not recommended to run two antivirus packages on Windows at the same time.

I'm new to the forum, so I didn't realize that.

Yes, Armor is active on my Orbi.  Is Armor superior over McAfee?  I have McAfee on each of my mobile devices, as well and the protection covers me even outside of my Wifi network.

You could try posting the question in the Armor forum, but I have no idea if anyone watches that forum.

I confess that once I saw, "Free Trial", I lost all interest in Armor. The few references I have seen to Armor have been negative, such as "How do I make this go away?"  Of course, happy customers do not visit forums and vent.  "Configuration error" does not seem very useful as a warning.

  • I am receiving this error message on my Pixel phone.

Any ideas where I can find a solution?

I was getting the same message on my Pixel phone every hour or so and opening the Orbi app didn't provide any information or explanation. However, when I opened the Armor Security app I saw that web protection is recommended to be turn on on my Pixel phone. That may do the trick.
