Connecting Orbi directly into BT ONT

Since the ONT is still holding the old router info, you have to reboot or unplug for a minute and plug back in. Then connect the Orbi to the ONT and see if you can install. If not you may have to contact your ISP and give the MAC address to them. WOW networks requires routers to be registered. Not sure about your ISP.
