Connecting RBR20 to Airport Extreme in "Bridge Mode"
Want to connect my Airport Extreme to my new Orbi RBR20. We are experiencing dropped signals and want to use the Extreme to help with signal strength. I know the Extreme needs to be set to "br...

I'm trying to prevent the dropped wi-fi signals we are experiencing from the Orbi.
Do not want to attach any devices directly to the back of the Extreme.
I believe what I want to do is to use the Extreme to assist with the strength of the wi-fi to prevent weak and/or dropped signals.

Bridge mode on the Extreme will not support what your trying to do. I don't know if AIrport Extreme supports Extender or any Repeater modes. Something to ask Apple about.
I would focus on the Orbi, if your having problems with wifi, lets see if we can narrow down whats happening there first, then later on, see if you need an extender.
What Firmware is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

Firmware V2.3.5.26
ISP: AT&T Aris U-Verse Wi-Fi is disabled for 2.5Ghz and 5.0Ghz
House is 2300sf Router and satellite are spaced approximately 30ft. Drywall, no concrete.
Dropped signals are occuring in rooms that are approximately 90ft to 300 ft from router. and 400ft from Satellite.
When you suggest the changes be made on channels and settings, are you refering to the Orbi router or the AT&T U-Verse?

Orbi router.
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?I would confirm distances. 300-400 feet is beyond what your house size is. That distance would be down the street from your home. Something Orbi wifi would not support.

We have 2 floors in our house. Router is on main, Satellite is on ground level. Problems with signal are on main floor (where router is located). locations are one room from router and 2 rooms from router. The Satellite is located almost directly below these two rooms, give or take.
There are 4 neighbors with wi-fi nearby, but their signal strength is showing only1-2 bars, so I don't think they are running interference with our signals.
I'll have to attempt re-doing settings and channels later. We need the internet up and running right now.
If I can't get the issue resolved, I'll have to return the Orbi and go back to my Extreme and find a better extender than the one we used previously. Unfortunately, it seems there are a lot of other Orbi users having the very same issue as me. Shouldn't be so difficult and require so much work according to the Orbi instructions in the box.
