Since FIOS is the main router and I need to pass through that network to get to the orbi, what needs to be done in the FIOS router to pass the traffic? Do I need to setup port forwarding for port 12974 and send it to my orbi?
Exactly. I am not certain what happens to DDNS. Orbi won't configure OpenVPN unless the customer has enabled DDNS using one of the three DDNS providers that Orbi has code to support their update mechanism. (it is a bit humbling to realize how many topics I have no knowledge of) My understanding is that the Orbi checks in with the DDNS provider and updates the hostname with the current public IP address. I do not know if this at regular intervals, or when the Orbi detects a change in the public IP. In your case, the Orbi doesn't know the public IP address. You may have to do this manually.
