I have eight Reolink cameras connected to an Orbi system with one router and three satellites. Did not purchase an NVR host, so cameras are accessed using the Reolink Client software (Windows) or the Reolink Android app.
Does this problem happen with only one camera, or with many?
When the NVR cannot communicate with a camera, but the laptop can, could you temporarily relocate the laptop so that it is connected to the Office satellite. That might help determine if the router to satellite connection is functioning correctly.
Also, the Reolink Client is available for Windows and Mac.

The issue is not only with my cameras.
My tablet just lost connection to my local server during normal operation.
So tablet can't access anything that is hosted on x.x.x.10.
Will reboot the system another time.
Will also swap out the satellite my x.x.x.10 host is connected to.
Maybe something is wrong with it.

I can't ping my camera again.
Camera is connected to RBR50 via WIFI.
My PC connects to RBS50 via LAN cable.
PC ping to camera does not work.
I was able to connect from my phone to the camera, as long as the phone was also connected through the RBS50. As soon as I moved my phone close to my PC, my phone lost connection as well.
Which strongly indicates that there is something not working correctly between endpoints that are connected via a satellite and other endpoints that connect through the main router.
Firmware is up to date: 2.7.5.4
I would appreciate some help.
Otherwise I need to get rid of my Orbi system and buy something else.- CrimpOnAug 21, 2024Guru - Experienced User
What is the model number of this Reolink camera?
(I have a number of Reolink cameras connected to an RBR50/RBS50 system that all work with the Reolink Windows Client and with the Reolink Android app. They respond to ICMP [ping].)
- jstewar9Oct 04, 2024AspirantI’m having a similar issue. I have a an RBR50 in router mode with two satellites (RBS50) connected via WiFi - all on the latest firmware.
I have a Home Assistant server on my network. Initially, I had it connected via Ethernet to a satellite and it would not be able to communicate with some smart devices (fans, switches, plugs, etc) and could not ping them either.
I now have the server connected via Ethernet to the router. There are less devices that it can’t communicate and all of them appear to be connected to satellites.
I’ve been planning to test without satellites, which I think would solve the issue
- but I would prefer to be able to use them. My house is 3200 sq ft so I suspect we’ll lose WiFi coverage in some parts without the satellites.
