Why do certain devices only connect to the 2.4 GHz frequency?

You can help this some by turning down the power out put of the 2.4ghz radio from 100% to say 50% and see if devices connect to 5Ghz better.

That is... presuming it has a 5ghz radio in it.

    Of course, would be for 5Ghz supporting devices.

      Right, but just making sure he knows that some devices arent 5g capable under any condition.... You could spend all day dorking with it and it will always be 2.4g.  LOL

       

      Bottom line:  You have to understand each device's communication capability.
