Daisy Chain Vs Star Topology - Performance

Thanks for the reply. I did detect a slight difference when playing You Tube. Nonetheless I wasnt too comfortable about having one satellite dependent on the other so I moved the router back to its original position and in no time, the network switched to a star topology. Thanks once again

There definitely will be greater "latency" because the packets have another "hop" to pass through. As a practical matter, it may not be noticable. A web page may take a half second longer to finish loading. It's a pretty easy thing to experiment with. Move close to the "near" satellite and do some things. Open some web pages. Play a YouTube video. Clear the browser cache. Move close to the "far" satellite and do the same things. Do you detect an obvious difference in performance?

Be sure to make a backup configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
