Definitely a software issue - brand new Satellite received and having same issues!
I've been having a lot of connectivity issues and going back and forth with support. I am running 1.11 beta firmware on both base and satellite. At one point my satellite failed so spectacularly I couldn't even revive it so I was able to get Netgear to RMA my Satellite. I received a brand new (shrink wrapped in the box) Satellite (RBS50) today and I installed it. I updated the FW to 1.11 beta to match my base. I ran it for about 2 hours and sure enough I lost connectivity, all connectivity on the satellite was dropped - both wired and wireless. When it finally recovered the light on the satellite was solid blue so almost like it lost the base and had to reconnect or something.
So in the end, I'm obviously beyond my return period but this thing is broken today. I'm returning the old satellite and will keep the Orbi powered off until a new firmware is released that with some luck fixes this issue. Ironically my old Netgear R7000 single router has been rock solid and fast since I started having these problems and now I really wish I didn't waste $400 on this and had just stayed with that this whole time. Expensive lesson to learn

- Retired_MemberThis is such a disappointment. I received a brand-new shrink-wrapped orbi router today and it has the same backhaul dropping nonsense. If it's within a year and they do not fix it we are entitled to a refund and I am fighting for that.
