Desktop iMAC keeps losing wifi connection with Orbi RBS20
Works fine for several hours and then iMAC loses wifi connection with Orbi and tries to connect with nearby iPhone. And then I struggle to reconnect to Orbi.

Is the nearby iPhone operating a WiFi Hot Spot?
(I turn on a Hot Sport for specific needs or testing, but do not leave it on all the time. Just curious.)

yes, it's about 10 feet away

Sounds to me like the Mac decided the Hot Spot has a stronger signal and switches. That's what devices do.
In other words, not "loses connection", but "decides to change".
I would turn off the Hot Spot and quit burning through LTE data on the iPhone.

Hot spot is NOT turned on. Not mine. Not my husband's. But Orbi loses the wifi and I can see both of these options showing up -- suddenly. That is what is so frustrating. There is no reason for the wifi to be dropped!!!

The iMac WiFi settings display that those two Hot Spots are available? (Have a signal strength and everything?) My WiFi devices only display access points that are broadcasting, not any that are powered off.
