I have ran this command and a phantom IP is appearing config get ap_dhcp_ipaddr 192.168.1.214 -- This IP doesn't make sense. The IP of my DHCP server should be 192.168.1.1 - This is the Optimum modem / router combo. I am pasting the commands I ran. The only thing that doesn't make sense is the 214 IP.. Please help because im getting not connected error in the interface / waiting / detecting & I don't know how to fix this.
It would be useful to have more detail about the error message. Is this a smartphone app?
Static IP addresses can be tricky. If the Optimum router is the DHCP server, the most typical configuration would be for it to assign 192.168.1.1 to itself and start the DHCP pool at 192.168.1.2. Configuring a device with a static IP does not inform the DHCP server to remove that IP from the pool. Can you check the Optimum to see what device it believes has been assigned 192.168.1.2?
- computersteveJul 25, 2020ApprenticeThe IP address pool is 192.168.1.30-254 the optimum router doesn’t see anything on 192.168.1.2. I notice that if I reboot the whole system. The satellites all stay on up 192.168.1.250. If I access that website in a browser it’s random which satellite it connects to. Meaning it’s like flip flopping between them.

Thanks for clarifying the DHCP pool. Does the router have a mechanism to assign IP addresses to specific devices? (Rather than set static IP's in my "permanent" devices, I use the Orbi LAN Setup page to give each of them a specific IP address.) If your router has a similar feature, maybe you could enter the MAC address of the Orbi router and satellites and assign IP addresses to them.
