I was having the same issue with a Netgear Nighthawk MR60 Mesh router. I was able to resolve the problem by using Cloudflare's DNS for IPv4 and IPv6. This will probably work with other custom DNS providers like Google or OpenDNS. Cloudflare DNS info: https://1.1.1.1/dns/
IPv4
- Setup -> Internet Setup
- scroll to DNS section and select "Use these DNS Servers"
- 1.1.1.1 for primary
- 1.0.0.1 for secondary
- Apply changes, wait for reboot
IPv6
- Advanced Setup -> IPv6
- scroll to DNS section and select "Use these DNS Servers" (depending on your IPv6 "Internet Connection Type" you may not have this option)
- 2606:4700:4700:0000:0000:0000:0000:1111 for primary
- 2606:4700:4700:0000:0000:0000:0000:1001 for secondary
- Apply changes, wait for reboot
I'm not sure why this works, but my guess is that it has something to do with the way certain ISPs use a deprecated method for "converting" IPv4 traffic to IPv6.
