Does the traffic meter negatively impact the connection?

Blanca_O In another thread you suggested turning off the traffic meter, but you did not say why. So let me ask, why? Does the traffic meter put any burdon on the signal strength/quality?

Seen some users post it has caused an impact. So why we mention trying to disable it and compare results.

    what router do you have?

Some of the more base model devices will see a performance hit with it on

No. But it does mean that the router's processor has to devote some of its sources to measuring the traffic.

The same argument applies to QoS, parental controls or any other function that requires the router's processor to do things other than managing your traffic.

So it isn't likely to do much to the wifi signal, but it can slow things down generally.

A least, that is the theory behind that advice.
