DoS attack log when attempting to connect using the Orbi app on a new mobile phone
Hey All,
I have an RBK50 with the latest firmware etc and I am used to the Orbi App functions. However, my old mobile phone which was registered was damaged and now with a new mobile phone, my Orbi App doesn't connect to the Orbi router anymore.
Orbi routers logs show it is blocking a DoS attack. How do I fix this and start using my new phone to manage the Router via the Orbi App? There no issues in connecting to the Wifi signals from this new mobile device.
Thanks much!
Alas, you are caught in an on-going "App Crisis". The latest version of the Orbi app (2,20,2,2506) is defective. When users attempt to connect, they are forced to enter the web browser credentials ("admin" and password) and the app immediately says that the logon has timed out. There are several horribly long conversations on the community forum about this issue. I saw one post commenting that Netgear has promised a revised app will be available by Nov 12.
The silver lining is that the web browser method of administering the Orbi appears to be working fine. I much prefer the web method over the app anyway, so my interest in the app issue is academic. (curiosity. I have gone so far as to download previous versions from APK Mirror and have the app running on four Android devices, with various sorts of issues.) To do anything practical, I use the web browser interface.

Does the Orbi log specifically identify the IP address of the new phone in terms of a DoS attack?

Just attempted logging in from the Orbi App again to validate. Few observations:
1. Orbi App admin login attempt error: "Logon timed out, please try again. If this issue persists, try rebooting your device".
2. Orbi's Administration/Logs - no log for this Orbi App login failure
I can't trace back to the DoS log from yesterday (since then I have recycled my router, re-installed the Orbi app on my phone).
