Ethernet backhaul after point to point long distance wireless bridge
I currently have a barn that is too far of a distance for a wireless backhaul for RBR50 and RBS50. Instead of running a very long cable to the barn, I got an avalon point to point long distance wirel...

So here is the long story. I went home and somehow the barn satellite had connected with wireless backhaul to the router even with the distance of barn to house. When I looked at connected devices on the barn satellite, it showed both point to point hardware IPs and MAC addresses connected wired to it. Since they were recognized I just did a reboot of everything and the next time it came on it worked as a wired backhauled satellite no problem. I have no clue what the issue was but the ole unplug it and plug it back in seemed to change things. Thanks for all suggestions.

How long did you wait for the satellite to connect when in the barn? I have come to expect computers to do things "instantly" and frequently been surprised by how slow certain activities are.

Good question also, I gave it a good 5 minutes to communicate, but ultimately left it connected for hours while I did other projects to no avail.

This definitely should work. The router and satellite cannot detect that they are connected to anything except the Ethernet cables on each end. What lies between those two Ethernet cords is totally hidden and invisible.
When the Orbi satellite is powered on, what pattern does the Ring LED at the top of the satellite display?
(I sometimes lie the unit on its side so that I can stare intently at the top and detect the difference between a white light 'fading' on/off and 'turning' on/off while I count the number of seconds.)

His wifi P2P devices maybe blocking RBR and RBS communications...as the RBS works ethernet when directly connected to the RBR.
