Excessive Internet Usage
Starting the 1st of July, my internet usage jumped to 400GB/day. I average 2-300GB/month. I've looked through the devices and only see two that I'm not sure of and I've blocked them. I don't see w...

netgear doesn't have a way to trace them by device.
but if you're using 400gb per day, that shoudn't be to hard to track.
Simple disconnect your devices and then turn a couple on for a couple hours and see if the data use jumps.
that much data is 16gb and hour so should be pretty easy to see if the usage jumps

You'd think it would be easy but it's not. I'm on xFinity so no easy way to see how much data is consumed. I have one desktop computer, a phone and a couple of laptops that are off. Beyond that, there are 28 other devices around the house that are connected to wifi, from thermostats to Echos to Smartthings hubs.

There's a traffic monitor in orbi but it only shows all the device.
Try turning off all the phones/tablets/computers and just see if any of your IoT/smart hubs are caught in a loop and causing it. If that doesn't work, that's ruled out a bunch. then turn on the phone or PC next and watch.
its a bit of a pain but it does work.Thats how I found out I had a miner installed that was burning data on one of mine.

Well, I can't turn off everything or I won't be able to see what's going on. :-). I started the traffic meter and may switch off the main desktop and along with other stuff and just use one of the laptops which has very little on it.
And thanks Plemans for the info on the traffic meter. I'm assuming it just runs in the background and I can pull it up as needed.

On the Orbi web interface, Advanced Tab, Advanced Settings Menu is an entry for Traffic Meter:
Observe the top line:
If you are using 16GB/hour, removing the offending device should be obvious in less than one hour.

So it looks like traffic is back to normal. Here's what I found. Looking through my local computer, I found 2 user IDs that I don't remember creating. Don't know why I didn't think of that before. Have no idea how they were created, just thinking somehow, I caught a worm. I'm usually very careful about what I open, but maybe I missed something. I've deleted those two accounts. The statistics below are from today, about the last 12 hours.
