Extend a wifi mesh with ethernet cabling?
Our Orbi RBR50 Router can't extend wifi to our RBS40 Satellite because of thick walls in-between. However, the rooms are linked by ethernet wall cabling. Can we link the Orbi Router by ethernet to the Satellite? Or link the Satellite by ethernet to our ISP-provided router (which is effectively only used as a modem)? No luck with either of those solutions so far. Perhaps we’re dong it incorrectly. Can any one help? Thanks!

Yes, Orbi satellites can be linked to the router using ethernet cables. Here's the link to Netgear's description:
The key is to first sync the satellite wirelessly. In the same room is the easiest because you can see how the LED rings indicate linking and then "linked". AFTER the satellite has linked wirelessly, then power off the satellite and connect with ethernet. It can take as long as 5 minutes for the satellite to make the wired connection. Finally, unplug the satellite and move it to the final location.
Many (many, many) Orbi users have linked their satellites using ethernet cable.
