Extremely Slow Wired Connections Using RBK50/RBS50

I have the most recent firmware installed - 2.0.0.72 I believe. As with the past firmware versions installed, my two PCs suffer mercilessly when both are accessing the internet. I have a 200+mb connection but am waiting minutes to get anything back. I just factory reset the router and installed the firmware and did the basic configuration. Oops, same problem, the PCs are getting no internet. Anyone else having this problem? I have a Netgear Nighthawk in service now and am not having such a problem, but the WiFi is not as good as Orbi, which can be a problem with my TVs. So, I'm looking for a better solution, such as Asus or other.

  • That sounds to me like a potential IP conflict going on somewhere.

Is your Orbi in AP or Router mode ?  Is your modem also acting as a router ?

The Orbi is in router mode. The modem is acting in pass thru mode and it's admin IP is 192.168.100.1. So, I would guess that it is not the problem. Realize also, I reconnected the Netgear Nighthawk and almost all is OK. To your suggestion of IP conflict, after reconnecting the Nighthawk, I had a conflict between one of my PCs and a Netgear NAS device. I believe that this was not the situation while the Orbi was being used. However, I will test your suggestion and see if I had missed this. I have seen this slow down using previous firmware, so I guessed that the problem was back in spades. Hopefully your thought will bear fruit. I like the Orbi's WiFi couverage.
