Failure to get internet IP with Metronet Fiber ONT - Orbi Router RBR50v2
Power cycle modem. Power cycle Orbi. In all order. Factory reset. Netgear support. Nothing worked. My Orbi wifi router will no longer get a WAN (internet) IP from the Metronet Fiber ONT devi...

UPDATE: I was able to resolve my issue. Here are the steps I took:
1. Connected Macbook directly to the Metronet ONT, which provided working internet.
2. Went into Macbook network settings, then to TCP/IP tab. Renewed the DHCP Lease.
3. Connected the factory reset RBR50 to the Metronet ONT.
4. Connected Macbook to the ORBI and went into ORBI settings using the IP address.
5. Completed the ORBI new product setup
I don't know if the DHCP renew was what did the trick or if I just got lucky, but it worked.

Cficklin31, good workaround trick!
Did you enable "Automatically adjust for daylight savings time"?
If you're not in DST zone, turn it off. Otherwise enable it, but switch NTP server from default NETGEAR to time.google.com to see if the problem comes back again after current DHCP lease expires.

Thanks for the tip. Auto adjust for DST was already enabled and I am in a state that observes DST. I changed the NTP to google as you suggested. Now I'll wait and see if that helps.

Just FYI - If you set Orbi to use that DHCP IP address as static, you might run into trouble again if your ISP ditches out a different IP address upon next renewal window.

No, I didn't change it to static. I left it set as "Get Dynamically from ISP".

Cficklin31, I'm curious if your Orbi is still holding up with Google NTP server...

So far so good. Do you think there is an issue with the Netgear NTP causing issues with network authentication on Metronet?

It's only a suspicion on my part, hence the request for an update. I can't really test/verify my suspicion because my Orbi is currently running in AP Mode. If NTP/time server is not working properly, it could cause problem for Orbi/DHCP when it's time to renew its WAN IP address because DHCP relies on working NTP/timer for IP address renewal.

Cficklin31, when you get a chance, can you check/post Orbi's logs for "[Time synchronized with NTP server] ..."? If Orbi is working/happy, there shouldn't be any "[Time synchronized with NTP server]" entry in the log after the switch.
