Feature Request: Orbi Satellite Ethernet Backhaul
As good as Orbi looks on paper I don't understand Y you would cut yourself so short and not support Eithernet backhaul for the satellites, I have 5 locations needing a system like this but without su...
Let me acknowledge that our customer base has been clamoring for this feature for a while, and we are trying to be responsive to their needs. To provide context on why it's taking a while to get it out, during the first quarter, the Orbi Engineering team was focused on bringing out the two new products (RBK30 & RBK40) to market. Now that it's accomplished, we're actively working on bringing this feature and a couple of other interesting, market-requested features to you.

peteytesting apologies; however I'm not the first poster to interpret your post as coming from someone representing Netgear. Even your reply implies that you were involved in product decisions.
I'm not sure why you seem hell-bent on attacking every post asking for this feature. We all can read the thread and have heard your viewpoint. You (as far as I can tell) are a single individual trying to outshout a mulititude of others asking for the feature. I believe we all understand that there is NO commitment from Netgear on when, if ever, they might add this feature. But your continued posting every time an individual asks for this feature's inclusion in the product doesn't really add to the discussion. The various people who do ask for it do, by virtue of giving Netgear a picture of the potential demand, thus helping prioritize it within the development backlog.
just for info i got accepted on the original beta test for the orbi and have been doing so since , so i do have some knowledge when it comes to design and purpose , at the end of the day if it does eventuate that the orbi does get ethernet backhaul all well and good and i hope it does , but at this stage i wouldnt be holding my breath waiting

which mean dont hold your breath as that road map could or may be a long time off , if at all , just saying so you dont get your hopes up :)
Perhaps a more tactful way to state it:
if you have an immediate or near-term need for Ethernet backhaul, another vendor/product solution would be better for you. If the Orbi without this feature meets your needs today but you foresee Ethernet backhaul as a future requirement for you, then you have to decide whether you want to gamble on whether Netgear will deliver this feature in your timeframe as part of your decision criteria, since Netgear has not provided any insight on when we might see this feature released.

Totally agree and that's why I returned mine and stop debatting here. Keep the requests coming but no need to discourage or encourage people's hope.
