Can anyone from netgear explain why a full factory reset is required everytime an update to the product occurs? Never ever in my whole professional IT career have I EVER come across a product where a factory reset was required after a firmware update.

I'm all ears as well. For me I don't think it is required (or it shouldn't be) as much as a last ditch effort on some offering 'straws' as solutions.

Hey guys I found out why some of the names looked jacked up in the interface..For example my ipad was called Casey's Ipad but it was showing Casey#39' ipad or something close to that. It looks like if you take out the apostrophe in the name it will display correctly on the app and the web interface.

the reset requirement has been there since, probably, the first netgear router ever made. It's because of bad programmers that can't read the existing configuration and properly convert it to the new firmware's configuration structure, I believe.
Thank goodness I read this thread. I was going to buy 2 sets of Orbi's today, and I don't need the aggravation y'all pioneers are going through.

Is a new Beta Firmware coming soon to address the stability and lingering issues ?
