Firmware 2.3.5.30 valid for RBR50/RBS50?
I see in another thread that people are upgrading their RBR50 routers to 2.3.5.30 with success. I got the prompt on the Orbi app that this version was available for upgrade and I pushed the button t...

Hi rjantigua
Were you able to update the firmware to 2.3.5.30? Firmware is already posted on our support site https://kb.netgear.com/000061080/RBR50-RBS50-Firmware-Version-2-3-5-30

-upgraded today
-did a factory reset RBS50 first , waited, then RBR50
-generated a new key
-reset RBS50 using reset button as I lost connection after generate new key
(not sure if this was needed but I also wanted to make sure of slow Internet on RBS issue below)
-RBS was still not showing online even after a few power cycles so I just went out to do errands and when I came back 1 1/2 hours latter the satellite was connected finally, must have just needed time to sync.
-Every device, iPad, 2-iPhones, 3-apple tvs 4K, and lots of other devises so far are connected perfectly and no disconnects at all yet. Will certainly post back if I find any problems.
-One of my WiFi cameras has weak WiFi but works.
-Now the problem I have and had with many firmware versions, sometimes the RBS satellite would give me full speed the first few days of a new firmware then after a few days or so I only get 1/4 to 1/2 the full speed of my ISP on devises connected to the satellite RBS 5G band(but this version was the slow speed after flash), BUT when these same devises connected to the main RBR 5G , I get full isp speed on Speedtest downloads. I think this may be a common problem of these Orbi devices as another thread I read somewhere in this forum stated by some. If there is a fix for this please advise.

Is Daisy Chain enabled or disabled? For one RBS, disable Daisy chain...
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between them to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

- Dfran1Jul 22, 2019ApprenticeYes I disabled daisy chain, one of the first things after factory reset.
1,150 square feet , raised ranch
Router in middle of the basement 4” from ceiling
Satellite is 20-30 feet , 2’ above floor on 1st floor in south room north corner of front of house.- FURRYe38Jul 22, 2019Guru - Experienced User
Possible that speed issues come from the RBR being in the basement. Basements are not good for wifi routers. Can be problematic.

I'm having the same issue. I get better service by turning off the RBS50 and just connecting to the primary RBR50, so frustrating. Did you resolve your issue? I feel like it started happening around the firmware update.

Has a full factory reset and setup from scratch been performed on both RBR and RBS?

What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between them to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain isn't needed for just one RBS, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).
